Shen Yun Reaches Japan - Dancer Touched by First Performance in Tokyo
Shen Yun Performing Arts has reached Asia. The first stop: Tokyo, Japan.
After one of the shows on Tuesday, our reporter spoke to a professional dancer. She gave us her impressions of classical Chinese dance.
[Mika Yaguchi, Arabian Folk Dancer]:
“The body’s ability, and base is very— I thought that they might be doing it from a very young age. I can’t believe they’re also human! It makes me believe if we work hard, we can also be like them. I really can’t believe they’re the same humans [like us], for example the soft movement of their finger points. The males are also stunning. Very wonderful.”
Ms. Yaguchi started her entertainment career in acting. She now specializes in belly dancing and runs several courses at a community college.
She was quite impressed with Shen Yun’s performance.
[Mika Yaguchi, Arabian Folk Dancer]:
“The formation, we are also doing that, to make it fit and beautifully assembled in the middle of the music. To do a world tour, and to suit it with the place, I think is very difficult. That’s very awesome. Indeed it’s professional. I’m very touched.”
She appreciated the uniformity within the show.
[Mika Yaguchi, Arabian Folk Dancer]:
“Everybody’s face is very cute and the style is the same. It seems there’s a fixed [standard] and their weight are all the same. They’re really working hard. This also makes me touched.”
Ms. Yaguchi says she will be back to see another Shen Yun performance.
[Mika Yaguchi, Arabian Folk Dancer]:
“Yes, I’m looking forward to [the show] next year, please contact me.”
