Haiti’s Airport Prepares for Re-opening

Preparations are underway on Thursday ahead of the highly anticipated re-opening of Port-au-Prince's international airport to commercial flights.
The airport closed immediately following the country's earthquake.
For much of January, it served as a headquarters for the U.S. military and a destination for hundreds of planes carrying relief supplies from all over the world.
Parts of the airport were destroyed in the quake, but workers have been grinding away throughout the month in an effort to have it ready to receive flights.
American Airlines will begin flying into the capital on Friday. Air France and Air Canada are expected to provide service shortly thereafter.
