Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords's Husband Resumes Shuttle Flight Training
NASA astronaut Mark Kelly is back on board space shuttle Endeavour's mission to the ISS. He was on leave for a month to be at the bedside of his wife, congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords.
Kelly resumed training on Monday as commander of the STS-134 space shuttle mission.
He took a leave of absence to care for his wife. The Congresswoman was critically wounded when she was shot in the head in a Tucson, Arizona shooting outside a supermarket on January 8.
Kelly and the STS-134 crew resumed training together for the mission that is targeted to launch on April 19.
They practiced launches and landings in a space shuttle motion simulator.
Kelly said his wife's progress had made the decision to resume training easier.
