The "world's largest green store" has opened for business in New York's famed Times Square.

Designed to help celebrate the 40th anniversary of Earth Day on April 22nd, it may well be the largest upcycled goods store in the word.

[Tiffany Threadgould, Chief “Design Junkie”, TerraCycle Inc.]:

"The idea of having the store is to create awareness for the fact that we make products out of upcycled materials. We are showing people that you don't have to throw garbage away. You can put it to a second life."

The green store features over 100 products made entirely from waste materials.

[Christina Liedtke, Couture Designer]:

"So the inspiration for this piece was obviously earth day and spring, so we wanted to pick one natural element of spring and Earth Day and the flower was the biggest inspiration.”

Or if you're really fashion forward, you might want to sport this bag made entirely of candy wrappers.

These bangles made of trash bags sell for $80, but most items are moderately priced.

[Tiffany Threadgould, Chief “Design Junkie”, TerraCycle Inc.]:

"I think people are really interested in the items because they recognize them and they're so used to them being put to use in a different way.”

The store also features lawn and garden fertilizer, including a special product called "worm poop.”

It’s made of garbage, using compost as its contents, and is packaged in recycled bottles.

TerraCycle is located at 41st and 8th avenue in New York City's Times Square and will be there through May 1 for Earth Month.
