A roadside bomb killed one policeman and wounded three others in the northwest Pakistani city of Peshawar on Friday.
The bomb went off when a patrol car was passing by. Police said the bomb was detonated by remote control.
[Shafiullah, Police Officer]:
"Our mobile unit at Pishtakhara was on routine patrol. When it reached where the bomb was planted, it exploded. As a result one of our assistant sub-inspectors, a driver and two constables were injured. And we have just learned that one of them has died."
No one immediately claimed responsibility. Militants often carry out attacks in retaliation for government offensives in the country's tribal areas bordering Afghanistan.
