Life goes on for residents of Lahore in eastern Pakistan, but many are in a state of shock, a day after three bombs killed at least 20 people and injured 170.

Police said two suicide bombers blew themselves up at a busy Shi'ite procession.

The street outside the mosque was littered with body parts and the wreckage of burnt out vehicles on Thursday, as residents tried to make sense of the attack.

[Arshad, Lahore Resident]:
"This is not the work of Muslims. I can't understand who carried out such things. It does not matter whose procession it was, but such things should never happen."

Others called for action from the government, already burdened by the impact of the worst floods on record.

[Hafiz Mohammad Muneer, Imam at Lahore Mosque]:
"We strongly condemn it. There should be stern legal action against whoever carried it out."

Pro-Taliban Sunni militants frequently attack Shi'ites as part of an effort to destabilize the U.S.-backed government.

The renewed wave of violence comes as millions in the country continue to struggle for food, water and shelter, following devastating floods over a month ago.
