BiondVax is an Israeli company developing an innovative flu vaccine. It is based on 15 years of research in observing and isolating the common factors of all flu strains. The vaccine is now undergoing clinical experiments in a large Israeli hospital. If this stage is successful, it will be good news amidst the panic of the swine flu outbreak.
[Dr. Ron Babecoff, President, BiondVax]:
"What is interesting in what we are doing is that we are offering one formulation of flu vaccine that is good for as many strains as possible, Quasi against any strain, existing, and strains that may come in the future. So we have one formulation that can deal effectively with all seasonal and pandemic strains, including of course the avian flu and we have also a good potential, we see a very good homology with the recent swine flu outbreak."
Dr. Babecoff says that within one month of the universal vaccine being authorized, which could be very soon, the production of huge quantities of the vaccine for world wide use in combating pandemics, could be possible.
