The Russian media has been focusing on former Russian policeman Major Alexei Dymovsky who made headlines with his blog on the internet. His site unveiled corruption among police officers in his hometown.

In a news conference on November 10, Dymovsky announced that he wanted to discuss the situation with Prime Minister Vladimir Putin.

"I'm expecting from some reaction from Vladimir Putin, the public is supporting me, and I'm expecting that he will make some structural changes in the system."

Dymovsky's video clips were posted on his website and viewed more than a million times on YouTube, according to the site's statistics.

Dymovsky was fired after he posted two video clips on YouTube in which he appealed to Putin to rein in senior officers. He'd accused them of pressuring subordinates to charge innocent people to meet statistical targets.

He also accused senior officers of forcing him to work at weekends and exerting undue pressure.

"We have to serve the law, not the generals."

Dymovsky's accusations have become a highlight of print media and key state-controlled television channels throughout Russia.

He planned to stay in Moscow and would try to meet Putin to secure a wide-ranging inquiry to help restore the honor of the police.

"I want to keep working and I want to achieve justice."

After the videos gained attention in media reports over the weekend, Russia’s Interior Minister promised an inquiry into the allegations.
