And China is again suffering horrendous traffic jams. The latest one, now into its third day, has clogged a highway between Beijing and Tibet.
By Thursday traffic was stopped for at least 75 miles. The jam started near Beijing on Tuesday.
Congestion is becoming a common occurrence on China's roads. Only a week ago a similar sized jam on the same road lasted for nine days.
More travelers are now flocking to the rail service. But with the extra load, commuters are still faced with long delays.
