Chinese Regime Launches New "Strike Hard" Campaign

2010-06-18 10:51

Chinese authorities announced they will start a seven-month-long “strike-hard” campaign on July 1st. It appears to be in response to a recent wave of violent crimes.

Police are to identify and resolve conflicts early, but specifics were not given.

The campaign is similar to one before the 2008 Olympics, but it targeted people suspected of being critical of the Chinese regime.

This crackdown seems to be the regime’s response to experts saying there’s widespread frustration over corruption, the wealth gap, and the inability to have legal disputes resolved.
