Hong Kong authorities have denied entry to the artist who made a statue dedicated to the victims of the 1989 Tiananmen Square crackdown.
Hong Kong police had confiscated Chen Weiming's statue, the “Goddess of Democracy,” during a demonstration last Saturday.
The statue was modeled after the one erected by the students in Tiananmen Square 21 years ago.
Police returned the statue on Tuesday--the same day that Hong Kong deported Chen, a New Zealand national.
Hong Kong residents will hold an annual vigil tomorrow to commemorate the anniversary of the crackdown.
