Amnesty International has issued an urgent action calling for the immediate release of a missing Falun Gong practitioner, Mr. Jiang Feng.
On February 18th Jiang was supposed to have boarded a flight from Shanghai’s Airport to Newark, New Jersey to be reunited with his wife. But Jiang was taken away by public security officials and never made it on the plane.
Amnesty International believes Jiang is now under police custody, where he’s at risk of being tortured or abused.
Both Jiang and his wife, erhu soloist Mei Xuan have been imprisoned in China before for practicing Falun Gong—a meditation practice the Chinese regime has been persecuting for more than ten years.
According to the Falun Dafa Information Center, Jiang Feng is one of more than 127 Falun Gong practitioners the Chinese Communist Party has abducted in the run-up to the 2010 Shanghai World Expo.
