2010-03-16 11:41

25 people are dead after a coal mine fire in central China's Henan Province. This is the latest deadly incident in the country's hazardous mining industry.

It happened in central China's Henan Province late on Monday.

The fire was caused by faulty cabling at the main pit of Dongxing Coal Mining Co. in Xinmi near the provincial capital of Zhengzhou.

Six miners escaped.

Strong demand for energy and lax safety standards have made China's mines the most dangerous in the world.
