Chinese state-run media confirmed on Thursday that 17 people died in a landslide that hit a village in China's northwest Shaanxi Province. At least 11 people are still missing.

The landslide occurred on Wednesday morning. Houses were crushed and some people were buried.

A few escaped without injury, while others were taken to the hospital for treatment.
