On Monday the Chinese communist regime executed nine men—eight of the Uighur minority and one Han Chinese. They were sentenced to death for crimes committed during the ethnic violence in the far western Xinjiang region in July.
The CCP is still keeping the Xinjiang region under heavy security, blocking Internet access and international calls.
The state-run China News Service reports the nine men were executed after a review of their verdicts by the Supreme People’s Court. Further details were not given.
Chinese high courts tried and convicted 21 defendants in October for crimes related to the Xinjiang violence. The majority of the defendants have names that identify them as belonging to the Uighur minority.
Uighur rights groups, like the World Uighur Congress (WUC), have condemned the executions saying that the men failed to receive fair trials. The WUC reports the men were not allowed to see their families before they were executed.
