Market Report - Asia Shares Up During Fed Meeting

Asian shares edged higher today and the U.S. dollar was down ahead of key central bank developments in the U.S. and Europe.

The Federal Reserve ends its two day meeting later Wednesday. It’s expected to keep interest rates unchanged.

Toyota Motor gained amid a Mainichi newspaper report it would announce a pull out of Formula One racing after this year.

Rival Honda pulled out last year, while tire maker Bridgestone announced earlier this week it would not renew its supply contract after the 2010 season.

In China, the Walt Disney Company received the nod from Beijing to build a theme park in Shanghai, which will follow Asian sites already in Hong Kong and Japan.
