Something Fishy About this Japanese World Cup

2010-06-15 07:46

The World Cup is going under the sea. At this Japanese aquarium, they are trading the pitch for water.

Fans gathered for the day's match between Japan - the blue fish- and Holland -the orange.

The food filled ball was dropped in - starting the match.

Holland came out with a more defensive stance - not attacking the ball at all.

But as more fans gathered around, the teams shifted into offence - to the delight of the crowd.

Eventually with some quick fin work, Japan was able to float the ball into the net - scoring the game's only goal.

This match-up reflects the real World Cup as Japan takes on Holland in Group E.

Spectators hope they see the same thing happen in South Africa.

No title bar
"I want the real Japanese team and the fish Japanese team to play well - both of them."

So far, the Japanese fish team is looking stronger as the real team has lost three of their international matches leading up to the World Cup.

But if this aqua-match is any indicator of how the real team will play, it looks like they will go far.
