Maoist violence continues in India. Two people are dead and three injured after a group of paramilitary personnel were attacked by rebels. They were patrolling the streets in India’s Bijapur district when it all happened.

The injured were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Maoist rebels carried out more than 1,000 attacks last year in the countryside and in some bigger rural towns. Hundreds of people were killed.
