A British boy kidnapped nearly two weeks ago while on vacation in Pakistan has been reunited with his father in Islamabad.
Five-year-old Sahil Saeed was freed unharmed by his abductors in Jhelum on Tuesday after a 168-thousand U.S. dollar ransom was paid.
Pakistani authorities say an international gang of kidnappers was behind the abduction of the boy.
On Wednesday, Spanish police said they arrested two Pakistani men and a Romanian woman in the village of Constanti in the northeastern region of Catalonia linked to the kidnapping.
The three were kept under surveillance and were not arrested until Sahil was released.
Police said they found mobile phones in the flat where the three had been staying, along with the equivalent of over 165 thousand U.S. dollars in pounds and euros, and a computer bought with the remainder of the ransom.
The phones were first used by the kidnappers in Spain to make their ransom demand.
The kidnappers told Sahil's father to travel first to Manchester, in Britain, then to Paris to hand over the ransom money.
Sahil and his father are expected to fly back to the UK, where Sahil's mother and other family members are waiting at his home in Oldham, Greater Manchester.
