On Wednesday, India’s defense minister says Pakistan is not acting tough on terror camps operating within its borders.
At a launch of a new coast guard vessel, the minister said that Pakistan is not serious about getting rid of terror camps operating out of Pakistan.
[A. K. Antony, Indian Defense Minister]:
"Almost all the terror camps operating across the border are still active. All of them are active and to my knowledge till now, Pakistan has not taken any serious steps to dismantle or destroy these camps."
Antony says the Indian government will continue to talk to Pakistan and is doing its best to improve relations between the two neighbors.
[A. K. Antony, Indian Defense Minister]:
"From our side we will explore all avenues to improve our relations with Pakistan. That's why the talks were there. But I don't expect miracles."
India broke off official talks after the Mumbai attacks of 2008. Since then, it has said it will only resume talks if Pakistan acted against militants operating on its soil.
