Indonesian police killed two suspected militants during a search check in Aceh Province on Friday. Police say eight other militants were detained after the shootout.

Friday's shootout took place near the provincial capital of Banda Aceh, after local police searched a passing minibus.

Police found and confiscated several rifles and a pistol.

Authorities have launched a series of raids, following the discovery of a suspected militant Islamist training camp in the jungle of Aceh last month.
