Fire Damages State Bank of India in Jharkhand

A fire at the main branch of the State Bank of India in Jharkand has damaged records and property worth millions.

The fire, which broke out around 7:00 p.m. local time Wednesday in Palamau district, quickly turned into a major blaze.

Account ledgers of the bank’s branches in the district were destroyed.

Officials say the fire may have been caused by an electrical short circuit.

No word yet on the extent of the damage.
