Interstate reinforcements have been called in today to assist cleaning up after a large hailstorm hit Melbourne, Australia on Saturday. And more nasty weather is on the way.

Residents were so amazed by the size of the hail and ferocity that they took images on their mobile phones that have gone all over the world.

Some people witnessed hailstones the size of golf balls and many had houses and businesses damaged.

[Susan Gosios, Melbourne Resident]:
"It came down like bullets basically just hitting the window to the point where you think your house is going to collapse in."

Several major sporting events were cancelled and sports fields left flooded. The main train station did not allow trains to stop for a few hours and the roof was damaged.

The hail left sheets of ice that still remain twelve hours later.

At the height of the storm, power was cut to 100-thousand homes and traffic lights disabled.

Meanwhile in southwestern Queensland, the flood warning has lessened as people began to clean up after a once in a century flooding.

The waters caused millions of dollars in damages around the towns of St. George, Thallon, Bollon and Dirranbandi.

[Dave Campbell, St. George Resident]:
"Shocking. I probably haven't slept for two days."

[Jack Jones, St. George Resident]:
"We didn't really know, no one knows or knew that exact height, that's why everyone panicked."

The road access was cut off and some families went to evacuation centers as a precaution.

The towns of Thallon and Dirrandandi are still being sandbagged because the river levee has been breached, but other warnings have been downgraded.
