A storm hit Melbourne on Thursday evening, and flash flooding made travel difficult for many commuters who were on their way home from work. Electricity was cut-off in some residential areas.
Authorities urged drivers to exercise caution when driving, as floods damaged roads and infrastructure across the city.
Rescue workers were up all night as they received hundreds of calls for flash flooding, property damage and fallen trees.
Authorities are trying to restore electricity to some 2,000 residents in and around Melbourne.
