Indonesian police have arrested an Interpol fugitive on the holiday island of Bali.

45-year-old Timothy Geoffrey Lee was wanted for possession of prohibited drugs in Australia and was arrested at a village located in North Kuta, Bali on Saturday.

According to police, Lee had been living in Bali for about two months. The Bali police chief says the Australian Federal Police contacted Indonesian police for help in arresting the suspect.

[Sustina, Bali Police Chief]:
"The suspect, in Australia, was in possession of prohibited drugs. In cooperation with the Australian Federal Police, they have requested in November 2009 that we help to complete the investigation and arrest the suspect. We did an investigation, and proved that the suspect was in Bali and arrested him."

Police say they’ll work with Interpol and the Australian Federal Police to deport Lee to Australia.
