Two speed boats collided in Thailand’s beach town of Pattaya today, killing two Chinese tourists and wounding 15 others.

The boats collided head on, near the coast.

Police and rescue workers rushed to the scene. The injured were sent to nearby hospitals where 15 people have been treated. But three tourists remain missing.

One boat, which carried about 30 Chinese tourists, was heading to shore when it hit another boat which had foreign tourists on board.

The accident is being investigated but police said that strong winds could have been a factor.
