Local television stations in Pakistan's northwestern city of Peshawar reported a bomb attack on a police van on Thursday.

A remote controlled bomb blew up the vehicle around midnight while on a routine patrol.

Earlier on Thursday morning, a suicide bomber blew himself up outside a court building in Peshawar killing 18 people.

Peshawar, situated near the Afghan border, has been targeted several times by militants since the army began an offensive against the Taliban in South Waziristan last month.
