Three suspected members of the Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba appeared at Bangladesh's Dhaka court on Monday the 16th.

[Mohammad Nazrul Islam Sarder, Public Prosecutor]:
"Police can find out very important information from them and the police are certain that they are the members of the banned militant group Lashkar-e-Taiba."

The three Pakistanis were arrested on Friday the 13th, suspected of planning attacks on American and Indian targets in Bangladesh.

Locals support the government’s push against terrorist activities.

[Belayet Hossain, Resident]:
"I feel terrorism must be uprooted from all over Bangladesh and the government must play a very strong role against them.”

Police have the men's passports and say they have been in Bangladesh for several years.

The Lashkar-e-Taiba militant group is outlawed in the country.

In recent months, authorities have detained dozens of members of radical Islamist groups who want to turn the secular democracy into a state ruled by Muslim law.
