Thousands of people offered funeral prayers for blast victims on Wednesday the 11th, a day after a suicide bomb killed dozens in Pakistan's northwestern town of Charsadda.

A suicide car bomb ripped through a crowded intersection on Tuesday, killing dozens and leaving many more injured.

On Wednesday, the victims were laid to rest.

Relatives of the victims are angry the government hasn’t been able to protect its people.

[Lal Khan, Uncle Killed]:
"We request the government to provide protection to the poor people. People like my uncle die everyday."

The town's police chief said that the suicide bomber set off explosives in a square in the center of town.

According to local media reports, 34 people were killed and 55 others were wounded in the blast. Several vehicles and more than 50 shops were destroyed.

Pakistan’s president and prime minister have strongly condemned the attack and ordered an investigation of the incident.

The Pakistan army has been carrying out a major offensive in South Waziristan… a lawless ethnic Pashtun region on the Afghan border. Their aim… root out Pakistani Taliban militants behind a wave of violence in urban areas.

The militants have responded with intensified attacks in towns and cities since the offensive was launched, killing several hundred people.
