Temperatures dipped low in India's northern Dharamsala, following snowfall in the upper reaches of the state of Himachal Pradesh.
Now, mountains overlooking the town of Dharamsala are covered in a sheet of white.
However, tourists visiting from the plains are waiting to experience snow in the town itself.
[Upender, Tourist]:
"I came here yesterday with my family. The weather is quite cold here. We can see the snow covered mountains in the distance and we wish that we can go back after enjoying the snowfall here."
Those associated with tourism industry are expecting to do roaring business, seeing the influx of tourists to Dharamsala.
[Shyam, Travel Agent]:
"It snowed last night, so the temperature has come down. Tourists have started coming here from the plains, which is good for business. It has snowed in the upper reaches and we hope it will snow here as well, so that our business can grow.”
The upper reaches of Himachal Pradesh received around two to three inches of snowfall.
The lower areas of the state received rainfall, bringing down the temperature considerably. So, more snow around these parts is not out of the question.
