Varanasi, India: Fire Destroys Garment Warehouse

A fire destroyed a warehouse of the famous Benaras saris, located in the city of Varanasi in India's northern state of Uttar Pradesh on November the 3rd.
According to warehouse personnel, all the saris, including the expensive Banarasi saris were burnt, incurring losses to the tune of billions of rupees.
At least three fire engines were brought into service to put out the blaze.
After continued efforts, the fire was brought under control in about three hours.
It is not known what caused the fire… but an electric short circuit may be to blame.
No casualties have been reported.
