Russian Cargo Plane Crashes

All eleven people on board this Russian cargo plane were killed when the aircraft went down shortly after take-off.
The Ilyushin IL-76, owned by the interior ministry, crashed near the eastern city of Mirny.
An interior ministry press service official says the plane rolled to the right immediately after leaving the ground.
He said it flew on at a height of no more than 30 meters (98 feet) before crashing near an old mine up to two kilometers (1.2 miles) away.
Russia already has one of the world's worst air safety records.
Ageing aircraft, dated airport facilities, poor maintenance and lax standards have all contributed to the problem.
