Shanxi Public Endangered by Bad Vaccines

In 2006, the Shanxi Province Health Department sold the management rights of vaccines to a private company called Hua Wei. The provincial Health Department widely publicized the vaccines as safe and effective.
One whistleblower has revealed, however, that these vaccines are anything but safe.
Chen Tao’an works at the Shanxi Center for Disease Control. He says the Hua Wei failed to store the vaccines properly, exposing them to high heat for hours on end.

“The labeling was taken care of by individual Health Department officials and the owner of the company. They hired untrained people to affix the labels. They then used some other means to have the Health Department issue administrative documents stating that the labeled vaccines are to be used in the entire Province. There are still a large number of families who don’t know about the spoiled vaccines. If you report it, they will ignore you.”
Chen, who has tried to expose the practice since 2007, says up to 15 million spoiled vaccines have been used since 2006.
Wang Mingliang from Liuling County says his newborn son died last year after receiving a spoiled vaccine for Hepatitis B.
Another victim is Yi Wenlong from Hongtong County. His daughter developed an acute brain infection after receiving a bad meningitis vaccine.
Victims of the spoiled vaccines have tried to bring a case against the Center for Disease Control and Hua Wei. But so far, the local court has refused to hear the case.
