Mysterious Beast in Madhya Pradesh, India

Here in Gwalior city in Madhya Pradesh, locals are living in fear. They say a mysterious animal has been attacking them.

Everyone is keeping awake searching for the mysterious beast. At night people leave their huts to nd spend the night in a bus for protection.

[Meena Devi, Local Resident]:
"We are awake because we are scared of this mysterious animal. Two days ago it attacked a boy. No one is able to eat or sleep properly. Everybody is now keeping a sharp weapon to protect themselves from the mysterious animal.”

But local police are highly sceptical.

[Bhagwat Singh Chauhan, Police Superintendent]:
"This entire thing regarding the attacker is false. Our team is busy searching for that unidentified creature, but we haven't come across any thing. Till now no one has been attacked by any kind of animal. These are simply baseless rumors."

This scare may indeed have grown out of proportion. A person died during a stampede as the locals were chasing the mysterious animal.
