“I’m Loving this Show’’ — Conductor Gary Daverne on Shen Yun

Gary Daverne is New Zealand’s most internationally acclaimed composer, arranger and orchestral conductor. His musical career spans over decades.
Daverne has conducted many major orchestras, such as the London Royal Philharmonic, the Shanghai Symphony, the Taiwan Symphony and the Czech Republic’s Moravian Philharmonic Orchestra.
He is also the director and conductor of the Auckland Symphony Orchestra since its formation, 35 years ago.
So it wouldn’t be surprising that if a show came to town with a live orchestra, Daverne would want to see it.
And so it happened, when Daverne came to see Shen Yun Performing Arts at the ASB theatre in Auckland over the weekend.
[Gary Darverne, Orchestral Conductor]:
“I’m loving this show, this is the second time. I saw it when it was here last year and it is very good, I love it. One of the things I am enjoying about this show from last time is they have a full orchestra here, and they have a female conductor and I find that exciting as well. And the orchestra is top-notch.”
This week, Shen Yun will be heading for the sunny shores of Australia.
