2010-01-30 04:53

Writer Chistiana Harding and U.S. Marine officer Erich Wagner saw Shen Yun Performing Arts at the Kennedy Center Opera House in Washington, D.C.

[Christiana Harding, Writer]:
“The dancing was of course beautiful and of course all the performers were gorgeous as well.”

For Ms. Harding, Shen Yun’s performances about contemporary China provided a reminder of the lack of freedom there.

[Christiana Harding, Writer]:
“Erich and I have both been to China and so we both have a great feeling for the Chinese people that are dealing with the communism and the restrictions on their speech. So we liked the message that the show brought regarding the restrictions on free speech in China.”

Mr. Wagner was also left thinking about the persecution suffered in China today.

[Erich Wagner, U.S. Marine]:
“Echoing what Christiana just said, the first episode that showed the American audience the repression in China and how you can’t worship or practice your beliefs openly without being thrown in to jail. So I enjoyed that the most.”

Ms. Harding enjoyed the spiritual themes throughout the show.

[Christiana Harding, Writer]:
“I liked the expression of faith and religion. For everyone, I think everyone should have that right. So I enjoyed that aspect.”
