Albert Goodwyn is an arts editor at the San Francisco Bay Times, owner of Imago Productions, and a former stage manager. He watched Shen Yun Performing Arts at San Francisco’s War Memorial Opera House.
[Albert Goodwyn, Arts Editor]:
“The choreography is wonderful. I counted. There was something like 26 dancers on stage at once. And they all moved exactly in time. And that’s great, when you can get that to happen. But sometimes it’s a miracle when it does happen. That’s hard to do.”
His friend, Lucy, was particularly touched by one of the final performances about the persecution of Falun Gong in present-day China.
[Lucy, Audience Member]:
“It just makes me cry. It’s just so sad. But it’s so good that you’re bringing the message out in such a beautiful, incredibly beautiful way … The angels coming together and then the man with the banner at the end. It was just like, yeah! It was just really heartfelt.”
