Gunmen's Ambulance Attack Kills Four

The scene of another brutal attack in the violence-plagued city of Ciudad Juarez.   

Two paramedics and two patients were shot and killed on board this ambulance by a group of gunmen on Wednesday.  

Witnesses say the attackers rammed the ambulance with a black pick up truck, forcing it to stop, before heavily-armed men got out and shot at the vehicle.   

One woman, who was on board the ambulance, was wounded, but survived.  

Over 1,800 people have been murdered in Ciudad Juarez this year alone and paramedics here frequently face threats from armed groups trying to finished off wounded targets.  

Much of the violence is attributed to an ongoing struggle between drugs cartels to control lucrative drug trafficking routes into the United States.
