Mexican Authorites Nab Cartel Security Chief

Mexican authorities said on Monday that they have dealt a blow to the Sinaloa drug cartel after arresting the group's alleged security chief during an operation. 

             

Felipe Cabrera, alias "El Inge" is believed to be the head of Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman's security detail.  

 

He was arrested on December 23rd.

 

Special Forces Spokesperson Colonel Trejo addressed a press conference on the operation.

 

[Colonel Ricardo Trevilla Trejo, Spokesperson, Special Forces Unit]:             

"Special forces from Mexico's army carried out an operation which yielded the arrest of Felipe Cabrera, alias 'El Inge,' security chief for Joaquin Guzman, alias 'Chapo' Guzman and responsible for drug trafficking activities and violence attributed to the Pacific Cartel in the state of Durango and southern Chihuahua." 

 

Authorities also seized weapons, communications equipment and documents from Cabrera.
