Yet another Tibetan activist has been arrested in a string of crackdowns led by CCP officials. Tibetan writer Gangkye Drubpa Kyab from Serthar County in Sichuan Province was taken away by 20 policemen. Drubpa Kyab was arrested on Wednesday, and has not been released since. When his wife asked police for a warrant they stated they only wanted to talk with him. However, phone calls to officials in Serthar either went unanswered, or those who answered said they had not heard of his case. The 33-year-old writer is a Serthar native and has lived and taught there for the past ten years. Serthar has been hit with increased conflict in past weeks, as tensions between Tibetans and Chinese officials have grown. A month ago, Tibetan protestors clashed with security forces although Drubpa Kyab's participation is unconfirmed. He is the second Tibetan cultural figure to be arrested recently, following an earlier arrest of civil servant Dawa Dorje who promoted traditional Tibetan culture and music.
