The group Free Tibet said today that another Tibetan monk has set himself on fire. It happened Friday morning in China's Qingdao province.

Tamchoe Sangpo belonged to his monastery's Democratic Management Committee. These committees are set up by Chinese authorities to monitor the actions within each monastery. Sangpo's monastery was also subjected to a political re-education campaign run by local Chinese authorities.

According to Free Tibet, after Sangpo's self-immolation, people have been prevented from entering or leaving the monastery. Phone lines have also been cut.

This happened on the last day of Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping's visit to the US. We reported earlier today that Xi was met with Tibetan protesters as he arrived in Los Angeles, the last stop on his trip.
