Fire damaged a house in Zhoukou City in central China's Henan Province Monday. And more than 130,000 RMB went up in smoke.
The homeowner found out that his house was on fire about 10p.m. last night, but by the time he got back, it was too late. The 130,000 RMB was kept in a box and was the result of years of saving by feeding and selling pigs.
[Si San, Homeowner]:
"I needed the cash to purchase pig food, so I didn't deposit it in the bank. All of my family property was in this box. I've been saving it for five or six years. I did not even want to buy new clothes for myself. Now everything is gone."
The fire was caused by an electric blanket that Si forgot to unplug.
