Wuhan Court Sentences Activist to 10-Years for Subversion

A court in central China has sentenced an activist to 10-years in prison for "subversion of state power." According to rights group Chinese Human Rights Defenders, a Wuhan court dished out the sentence to dissident Li Tie… for writing articles criticizing the Chinese regime. The group says Li’s lawyer was not allowed to attend the trial and authorities appointed another lawyer to defend him. The sentence comes shortly after Chinese courts issued similarly long sentences to two activists in December 2011.
