New Zealander Arrested in Northwestern India over 3 Bullets

A New Zealand national, Harper Alexander Ralph, was arrested in possession of three live cartridges for a .22mm gun. 
 
The bullets were found during a security check at an airport in Udaipur district of India's northwestern Rajasthan state on Tuesday.
              
The 21-year-old Ralph, who is in police custody right now, has been booked under violation of the Arms Act. 
 
[Pawan Singh, Dabok Police Station]:        
"Three 0.22 live cartridges were recovered from his handbag and the police were told. A case has been lodged against Ralph under section 3.25 of the Arms Act."
 
Police officials have taken Ralph's fingerprints and other details.              
 
Ralph says the cartridges were not detected earlier as they were in his check-in baggage while coming from New Zealand.

"From New Zealand they were not detected because they were in a check-in bag, and so they were not detected. My toilet bag was in my carry on. When I go to Udaipur airport, so that is where they were detected." 
                      
Police say Ralph landed in India on January 23.
 
He was with four friends, they were planning to visit Agra, Ranthambore and Pushkar. 
 
He was scheduled to board a flight to Mumbai on Tuesday evening.
