New Zealand defense minister Wayne Mapp met his South Korean counterpart in Seoul on Tuesday to boost bilateral military relations.
Mapp arrived in South Korea on Saturday to attend a memorial service for the soldiers of the British Commonwealth of Nations during the Korean War and to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Imjin River and Gapyeong battles.
Mapp was greeted by Kim and South Korea's honor guards in traditional costume at Seoul's defense ministry before the two ministers had their meeting.
About 95-thousand soldiers from the U.K., Australia, Canada and New Zealand were engaged in the 1950-53 Korean War, leaving 7,500 dead, injured or missing.
Mapp plans to leave South Korea on Tuesday.
