At least three people are killed and more than a dozen wounded when a car bomb blew up in the Iraqi city of Hilla.
A member of the Babil City Council said the blast reflected the country's unstable security situation.
[Hussein Kamoun, Babil City Council Member]:
"The blasts in Ramadi, Babil and Basra are due to the political situation. As the security situation is unstable, we could expect such criminal acts."
Earlier on Monday, a car bomb exploded inside a residential complex housing displaced Shi'ite Muslims in Mosul, killing at least 8 people and wounding 4 others.
Political tensions in Iraq have been high since December when Shi'ite Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki's government ordered the arrest of a Sunni vice president, touching off a crisis that has many fearing a relapse into sectarian conflict.
