JOB DESCRIPTION:

New Tang Dynasty (NTD) Television has an immediate opening in its NYC headquarters for an aggressive, knowledgeable and goal-oriented sales executive. Individuals must be very customer-focused, able to build marketing plans to maximize local business growth and possess a strong track record of developmental success. Organization, communication, and time management skills are a must.

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:

  • Self motivated, high energy salesperson
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multitask
  • Analytical ability to utilize market analysis, ratings research, and other information to enhance sales efforts
  • Ability to work well with customers and fellow employees
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook and other computer applications
  • Reliable, self-starter
  • Bachelors Degree and 3-5 years of Sales Experience in the television media field preferred

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Generating revenue through the development of new accounts for the television station and it’s websites
  • Generating revenue through growing existing advertising revenue from current clients
  • Developing effective marketing plans to meet clients’ needs and objectives
  • Ensuring superior client relations
  • Keeping up-to-date on all station product lines and programming features
  • Keeping up-to-date on the product lines and programming features of competing TV stations and other media platforms
  • Preparing creative written and oral proposals
  • Preparing effective advertising schedules
  • Effectively negotiating advertising rates
  • Preparing accurate reports for sales management
  • Collecting of accounts receivable, as required

Position: Director of Business Development (updated January 2011)

Eligibility:

Bachelor’s Degree, MBA in US is preferred; Minimal two years of experience in Chinese media; Experiences in managing commercial planning & operations independently; Exceptional organizational and diplomacy skills; Cross-team negotiation skills and superior communications skills; Proven record of success in progressive business development and marketing; Must be experienced working closely with all levels of an organization; Expertise in communicating and working with mainstream market in US. Proficient in both Chinese and English; Good computer skills.

Position: Internship Positions Available (updated December 2010)

NTD provides undergraduate students with experience working in a professional television environment with industry standard studios and equipment in midtown Manhattan. Unlike at some other internships, at NTD interns will never be asked to fetch coffee or run miscellaneous errands. Interns here will contribute directly to the day-to-day production of on-air content. Reporter interns go out to report and write their own news stories. Photographer interns shoot and edit video for the broadcast. And graphic designer interns work on actual materials that will be seen across the world. Interns are expected to work hard and be passionate about NTD and its mission; in return, they will get unparalleled hands-on experience. Although hours are determined on a case-by-case basis, most interns will work a minimum of 20 hours per week.

Eligibility

This internship program is open to all undergraduate students who are currently enrolled in school and have completed their sophomore year.
