New York-based Shen Yun Performing Arts started the first of three shows in Dallas, Texas on Friday night.
[Dr. Kenneth Salyer, MD]:
“I like the show very much. I think it’s our first experience with classic Chinese dancing.”
This was also the first show for Shen Yun’s 2012 world tour.
[Dr. Kenneth Salyer, MD]:
“I find it very delightful and very exciting. And very colorful and very nice. And they’re a very very good group. Doing an excellent job.”
[Mrs. Salyer, Audience Member]:
“We’ve travelled in China and we’ve seen a lot of shows, dance shows, but not like this. This is really our first time to see classical Chinese, and were in the United States, so that’s very interesting.”

“This performance is just marvelous.”
Mr. Montgomery appreciated Shen Yun’s live orchestra.
[Gerald Montgomery, Base Vocalist]:
“And I think they should give more credit to the orchestra. It’s just wonderful the blend of traditional Chinese instruments with the orchestra. The orchestration is just marvelous, so the entire performance is just terrific.”
He also enjoyed the bel canto-style vocalists.
[Gerald Montgomery, Base Vocalist]:
“Both the tenor and the soprano have excellent voices. I love the way they project. They really have very fine voices.”
[John Lumsden, Engineer, Designs Electronics]:
“It’s been very very interesting. Something different for me to see.
[Mrs. Lumsden, Audience Member]:
“Wonderful. It’s beautiful.”
[Joe Kilianski, Medical student]:
“The colors, the costumes were vivid the sets were great. I was impressed just by the choreography and it kind of gets you in the Christmas mood.”
