STORY:
FIFA President Sepp Blatter said on Monday there is no alternative to holding the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

Blatter visited the nation in late September to inspect World Cup facilities, as its preparations have come under scrutiny in terms of infrastructure readiness and security.

FIFA has insurance worth up to $650 million in case either of the next two World Cups had to be cancelled, postponed or relocated, but Blatter said South Africa is the only plan for 2010.

[Sepp Blatter, FIFA President]:
"Definitely, there is no Plan B, C or D, There is only one plan and that is to bring the World Cup to a success and it will be a success. Please be aware that the Africans, they have the ability, to organize the World Cup."

FIFA says it has 97 percent of money budgeted by Cup sponsors and partners, which include companies such as Sony and Hyundai Motor.

Blatter said as of now all firms remain committed, regardless of what turmoil they may be experiencing.

[Sepp Blatter, FIFA President]:
"Even if some of them are touched by the economic crisis, it's normal they have so far, and in future, committed themselves to FIFA development programs and to the FIFA World Cup and the other competitions."

South African organizers say they are expecting 450,000 visitors for Cup games and are budgeting extra money for key issues such as security.
