Australia Bush Fire Death Toll Rises

And now we have continuing coverage of deadly bushfires ravaging southern Australia. The death toll rose to 189 today. Authorities say the number will continue to increase. The wildfires in the southern state of Victoria have wiped out entire small towns. More than 1,800 houses have been destroyed, leaving 7,000 people homeless.
STORY:
Mourners turned the state coroner's office into a memorial site. It’s being used as a temporary morgue while identifying victims. Hundreds of flowers are being laid in memory of those who perished.
Police confirmed more bodies were found in the ashes of the disaster, but say the final death toll will not be known until the dead are identified.
Some 30 schools reopened in the region, providing families a glimpse of normality after a week of tragedy. And this young girl is excited.
"Go out to play and play with my friends."
Getting children to school is also a relief for parents who have a lot to rebuild.

"Tense during the week and always wanting to know where they are so as long as things are calm and they safe here, that's good yeah, we can get back to work."
At least 19 schools remained close across the state due to strong smoke, and ongoing fires.
